Calling all Knitters and Crocheters!!
This summer, we are working with the Spinning Weal on a community project to decorate our town with summer bunting. Anyone can take part by knitting or crocheting A3 banners which will be strung like bunting across Old Street, Old Church Road and The Triangle.
You can knit or crochet any stitch you like, but chose one which will lay flat and not curl up. The theme is summer, so you could adorn your banner with things like sunshine, flowers, buckets and spades, sandcastles etc. You could just leave it plain or knit it in a patterned yarn. The possibilities are endless!
Each flag will be a unique work of art in an inclusive community installation to celebrate Clevedon.
Our aim is to have the bunting up by July, so come on Clevedon let’s get started! Please spread the word to your knitting and crochet friends.
How to get involved
Pop into the Spinning Weal to pick up some yarn and add your name to the list of contributors.
Make your banner A3 size (30CM/12″ wide x 42cm/16.5″ long), decorate it as you like, and take it to the Spinning Weal once completed. Attach a piece of paper with your name on it.
Please submit your banner by Saturday 28th June 2025.
