Swapping Fashion for a Sustainable Future: Clevedon Clothing Swap

In a world inundated with fast fashion and an ever-growing pile of clothing waste, the Clevedon Clothing Swap emerges as a beacon of sustainable style. Join us on Saturday, 27th January, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Theatre Shop in Queen’s Square, Clevedon, for a unique event that not only offers a fashionable alternative but also supports a noble cause.

Did you know that there are enough clothes in the world right now to clothe the next six generations? Despite this, the relentless cycle of production and consumption continues. Clevedon Clothing Swap challenges this pattern, questioning why we are compelled to make and buy more when the solution lies in making the most of what we already have.

Bring your good quality pre-owned women’s clothes, shoes, or jewelry to the Theatre Shop at 10:30 AM (maximum 10 items). As you engage in this sustainable fashion exchange, you’ll not only clear space in your wardrobe but also contribute to the reduction of textile waste. The items will be sorted, ready for you to discover some wonderful new additions to your collection. Please note that this event focuses on women’s clothing only, and men’s or children’s items won’t be accepted.

Participating in this eco-conscious event comes at a minimal cost of £3 per person, with all profits dedicated to charity. By taking part, you not only promote sustainable fashion but also contribute to a greater cause.

While waiting for your turn at the Clothing Swap, explore the Farmers Market stalls from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. Indulge in locally sourced produce, from cheese and vegetables to apple juice, jams, honey, and more. Sustainable Clevedon will also have a stall, distributing pre-ordered trees to create a deconstructed wood across Clevedon this winter.

Join us on the 27th of January for a morning that transcends fashion, bringing together local solutions for climate change and the imperative to reduce Clevedon’s carbon footprint. Clevedon Clothing Swap is not just an event; it’s a movement towards conscious living, where style meets sustainability. Let’s make a positive impact, one swapped garment at a time.
