Tell us about your business. What services do you provide?
We sell both traditional and more modern jewellery. We opened in 1832 so we’ve done a lot of different services throughout our time.
We do jewellery repairs as well, and we sell things like silver bits and pieces – engagement rings, necklaces, wedding rings, and pieces for collector. All sorts of things really!
How did you start your business? What’s the story?
The business started in 1832 in our Weston branch, we currently have three branches. Clevedon opened in 1870. The business has been in our family since day 1.
I am the 7th generation of this business. My dad and uncle – Jeremy and Tim Rossiter are both still involved in the business, we all work over the three branches. It’s a rare thing these days to have kept the business in the family.
I’ve worked Saturdays here since I was at school. I did some training online during covid, and have worked for the business full time for about 6 years.
What is the best thing about running a business in Clevedon?
Clevedon is just such a lovely town, Hill Road especially. We are all independent businesses up here. There are such lovely people, the shops are wonderful and we have such nice places to eat. We’ve got the seafront, which is lovely. It’s quiet but it’s lovely.
