Tell us about your business. What services do you provide?
I’m qualified in all beauty treatments, but I’m highly qualified in holistics and complimentary therapies. Here we offer advanced skin care but not invasive, so that’s microneedling, non-surgical facelifts, LED peels, all the advanced stuff.
My emphasis is on well-being so most clients come here because they just want to look after their health.
I have a 360 approach because I’m a yoga meditation teacher and member nutritionist, and I am qualified in sports therapy reflexology, Indian head massage and hot stone, all the spa treatments, so that gives me an approach that I can tailor everything to my clients needs.
How did you start your business? What’s the story?
I qualified when I had my son years ago, and I did a little bit of mobile work in the early days.
I opened up my first salon in Ambassadors in Backwell and it was really successful. We started winning awards and I was there for 15 years. I wanted to buy my own property, so I bought the old village post office in Cleeve, and turned it into a retreat centre. We did really well there and we went got into the Hall of Fame for beauty therapy by being the first salon to win UK salon of the year 3 consecutive times.
After COVID I was working for Parliament on integrated medicine and running more retreats for burnt out frazzled people, so I felt I needed to come away and really work on my own. I found this building in Clevedon, a lovely grade 2 listed property the top of Hill Road (even though we’re Number 1 Marine Hill) and I’ve been here just over 2 years.
What is the best thing about running a business in Clevedon?
I’ve lived here since I got married so I know Clevedon really well, and I think it is just such a beautiful place. I just feel really nestled in all the qualities that Clevedon has. And to have a treatment room overlooking the sea, it doesn’t get better that.
