Lisa – Global Independent Travel Centre
Tell us about your business. What services do you provide?
We book package holidays with all the main suppliers, and we also do world wide flights only, tailor made holidays, skiing, cruises. We are completely independent so we are not told what to sell, we do what is right for the client.
We also run lots of events, and have a holiday show coming up on the 29th April at Cadbury House. There will be 25 – 30 suppliers and it gives people the chance to speak with the experts.
Last year we won the TTG top 50 travel agents in the UK, and we’ve also been nominated for the same award this year.
How did you start your business? What’s the story?
It is actually our 15th birthday this year, so I have been running the business since 2010. Previously I worked for an independent in Clevedon, they then decided to close down the business and I restarted it as Global Independent Travel Centre. We were over the other side of the road to start with, and moved into these premises 4 years ago in July.
What is the best thing about running a business in Clevedon?
Everyone is just so friendly, we’ve made friends with a lot of our clients. People pop in, even if they’ve already booked their holidays, just to say hi. We build up really good relationships with them.
Global Independent Travel Centre is on The Triangle, and is open 9.30am – 4.30pm Monday – Saturday.
