Local Fitness Business Raises Money For #LightUpTheLights

In a Halloween themed affair, Clevedon based Sophie Heath Women’s Fitness and Nutrition raised over £100 for the local #LightUpTheParks fundraising campaign in support of the returning Christmas Illuminations in the Hill Road/ Alexandra Park area.

With creative outfits, spooky music and a lot of laughter, families came together on Sunday morning to get the blood pumping and have some fun!

Sophie is a certified Personal Trainer and Registered Nutritionist who lives and works in Clevedon. Specialising in post-natal care, her classes allow new mums the freedom of fitness without the stress of childcare. Sophie’s mum and baby classes focus on breath and core, low-impact cardio, body weight and resistance training.

You can find details of her Mum & Baby classes (Tuesday 10.30 at The Barn) on her website and join now. This class is specially designed for new mums to help you safely return to exercise post birth in a fun and friendly outdoor class – and babies can come too! This class focusses on restoring your core and pelvic floor and gradually building up your strength, helping you reconnect to your body after birth – and re-energising you to be the best Mummy you can be!

A typical class will include:

  • Mobility and releases.
  • Introduction or recap to your core and breath.
  • Main workout using bodyweight exercises, resistance bands & low impact cardio.
  • Cool down stretch.

Sophie also offers personal coaching packages to. create individualised support in areas of your life that you need it most – whether it be fitness, nutrition, lifestyle, or all of the above! I want to help you feel great and get your health on track.

Mummy PT packages are for Mums who want to build their fitness back up after having children. This may be 3 months post baby or years. Sessions will be held at your home so you have flexibility around children or work and don’t have to travel.

Thank you to Sophie and everyone who attended the fitness class, donating money to the #LightUpTheLights GoFundMe page.

The Christmas Illuminations, once funded, will be only one part of a larger plan to celebrate the season with late night shop openings, take away food & drink, and The Clevedon Christmas Market. The evening market, organised by the Clevedon BID, The Sunday Market and independent business owners in the area will bring festive cheer, fabulous atmosphere and a chance for the community to come together on one big night of local produce and Christmas food on Thursday 9th December. Posters for the event are popping up all over Clevedon with a market map and event details.
