While the independent shops fill up to the brim with festive gifts, trinkets, homeware, jewellery and fashion accessories, for some, even the widest variety of goods can leave gift givers a little lost as to what to leave them under the Christmas tree.

Clevedon is full of great ideas and fantastic causes you can support this time of year. Why not think outside of the traditional gift box this Christmas and share a little community spirit with your presents to loved ones…?

Artists Gifts With A Cinematic Twist At The Curzon Cinema

As well as gift cards to use for any screening at any time, The Curzon are also offering the opportunity to purchase something a little different, with all proceeds contributing to their Fundraising Appeal to save their roof.

As part of their campaign to raise crucial funds for the repair work to their roof, The Curzon are offering you the chance to write a dedication or message into their building. For a small donation, you can “Tag A Tile” with a note for loved ones near or far. Who knows, in another 100 years of the cinema, your message may be unearthed from the underside of the roof tiles for another generation to read!

Donations start at £10 per tile. Tiles will be back in stock shortly! Keep an eye on the Your Curzon Charity Facebook page for more details.

A Unique Gift With A Curzon Twist

The Curzon Cinema continue their fundraising to repair the damage to the roof  with the launch of their new campaign, “Art On The Tiles”. Cinema lovers, film buffs and those who appreciate the history of our iconic building will be able to purchase old tiles from the roof of the Curzon with a unique twist.

Tiles will be created by Nick Park, creator of Wallace and Gromit, as well as Aardman’s Founders Peter Lord and David Sproxton. More notable Aardmandesigners and directors will join them as well as local artists and internationally renowned painters, sculptors, musicians, actors, street artists, film industry professionals and illustrators – including Alan Lee, illustrator of the Tolkien books and film concept artist for Lord of the Rings.

“Singing In The Rain” Inspired Tile by Julie Mainstone

The Curzon Cinema is excited to launch our Art on the Tiles auction. The money raised will help completely restore our roof and save one of the world’s oldest, purpose built,  continuously running cinemas from closure. We will be auctioning some of the old roof tiles, made locally by the Sidney Keen Brickworks in the 1920’s. Each tile has been transformed into a work of art which is absolutely one of a kind. The auction will take place on Ebay, starting on Sunday 1 December and finishing on Sunday 8 December.

Why Not Become A Friend Of Clevedon Marine Lake?

Donate And Create A Eco-Friendly Legacy This Christmas

Sustainable Clevedon have launched a tree planting scheme that will provide an opportunity for members of the community to purchase a Christmas gift for friends and family, whilst also giving back to the town.

Each donation of £10 will enable a tree to be planted and cared for in Clevedon and in return for the donation, each supporter will receive an e-certificate which can then be personalised and given as a gift for friends and family this Christmas.
